I became a serial entrepreneur at age 20.

It’s kind of weird. I’m not one of “those” people who say everything they’ve ever done is cool and awesome. On the contrary. I’ve made a lot of bad decisions.

When it comes to side hustles, I’ve made plenty. Some of them were successful. Others I wish I could go back and do differently.

But most importantly I recognized the things I was missing.

If you’re considering going full steam ahead with a side hustle, you probably don’t have them too.

You don’t have an audience

A side hustle is worthless if you don’t have an audience.

An audience is the culmination of your work — it’s the reason you do what you do. Without an audience, you’re just flapping your arms around like an idiot in a park.

An audience is a group of people who regularly consume your content. Without them, you’re a one-man band playing to a bar full of deaf people.

An audience isn’t the same as a subscriber list. An audience is people who know, like and trust you. An audience is people who actively…
